Professor Wai Tse
Consultant Nephrologist
Wai Tse is a Consultant Nephrologist at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, where she was appointed in 2000. She is also an Honorary Professor of Education at the University of Plymouth Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy, and previously served as an Associate Dean for Health Education England South West.
Wai is a keen educationist and an accredited Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Physician Educator. Additionally, she is an RCP PACES examiner and a member of the RCP question-writing group.
She graduated from the University of Leeds as the top graduate, obtaining her MBChB degree with Honours and a First-Class Honours intercalated BSc degree in Pharmacology. She holds a postgraduate Diploma in Medical Leadership.
Her PhD focused on systemic vasculitis and immune-mediated glomerulonephritis, which was fully funded by a Medical Research Council (MRC) Fellowship.
