Folifest raises £2,320 for children’s wards

Donation to the children's wards from Folifest

Donation to the children's wards from Folifest A huge thank you to the organisers, the supporters and all who attended Folifest back in the summer, a fantastic donation of £2,320 has been donated to the children’s wards at Derriford Hospital.

The local music and family fun day, which was held on Saturday 22 July, was spread over two stages, situated between the local village of Tamerton Foliot’s three pubs, The Kings, The Queen’s and The Seven Stars.

The cheque was officially handed over by Joni Tortora, on behalf of Folifest, to Sue Rodgers, Play Specialist Team Leader.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to organise and attended this event. It sounds like everyone had a lot of fun,” said Sue. “The money will go towards providing TV/DVDs for our cubicles to provide the children in isolation with distraction and entertainment.

“We are also purchasing some specialist fibre optic lights which can go to the patients’ bedsides. Any remaining funds will be used to purchase arts and crafts projects, to provide distraction, particularly for those that are bedbound.”
