Plymouth cancer support centres benefit from generous donation

The Rotary Club of Yelverton has donated a total of £300 to Plymouth Hospitals Charity. The money raised will be shared equally between the Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre at Derriford Hospital and the Triangle Centre in Tavistock.

Past president of the Rotary Club, Sandra Dineley-Jones was diagnosed with squamous cell rectal cancer, a rare form of cancer for which she has undergone 6 weeks of daily chemotherapy and radiotherapy and now awaits her prognosis.

SplashED appeal has raised over £14,000 for new Paediatric Emergency Department

The SplashED appeal has raised over £14,000 for the new Paediatric Emergency Department at Derriford Hospital.

The appeal has had many generous supporters who have given up their time and come up with innovative ideas to raise money. Widewell Primary School held a pre-loved book fayre, a Christmas market and held school discos throughout the year, raising a total of £250.

Emily Bailey completes 300 mile charity cycle to Paris in 42 degree heat in memory of her mum

Emily Bailey from Bristol has successfully completed a 300 mile cycle from London to Paris (despite a record-breaking heat wave) to raise funds for Plymouth Hospitals Charity.

Emily has chosen for the funds raised to go to the Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre at Derriford Hospital. She credits the Mustard Tree for supporting her mum when she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

16-year-old Daniel Rowe takes on 15,000ft skydive to raise money for Plymouth Hospitals Charity

Daniel Rowe has raised £1,075 for Plymouth Hospitals Charity by taking part in a tandem skydive.

Despite his fear of heights, 16-year-old Daniel took the 15,000ft leap from a moving plane to raise money for the Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre at Derriford Hospital . The skydive was a birthday present for Daniel and he decided to use the opportunity to raise money for the Mustard Tree on behalf of his friend, Kayleigh Eve.

Fashion show for Forever Fred

The Forever Fred team have raised a fantastic £1,510 for the Snowdrop Appeal by hosting a successful prom and evening wear fashion show last month.

Forever Fred was set up by Joanne and Colin Smith, in memory of their son, Fred Neal Smith, who was sadly born too soon on 29 July 2017.
