University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) has been awarded £1.2m towards energy efficiency projects and renewable energy.

Starting Wednesday 2 April 2025, pedestrian walk-ins to the Children's Emergency Department (ED) will need to enter the building via the Main Entrance at the front of Derriford Hospital. This is due to the construction work taking place outside the Emergency Department.

We want to remind people about the closure of the single lane previously open to public vehicles outside the front of Derriford Hospital. In this video, Future Hospital Programme Planning Manager Bryonie Deeming explains the Trust’s decision behind the road closure, and alternative ways to access the hospital and its main entrance.

The West Devon and East Cornwall Breast Screening service has announced the opening date of its new additional site at Merchant House, Notte Street, Plymouth, PL1 2AH. On a direct bus route and easily accessible for all, the new location will be operating from 17 February 2025.

Following the announcement from the Secretary of State that University Hospitals Plymouth will be part of the first wave of Trusts to receive funding under the New Hospital Programme, the construction of our new Emergency Care Building is now moving at pace.
