We’ve been given the keys to our new home!

To say we are very excited is something of an understatement as, today, we have been given the keys to our new charity hub which will be the brand-new headquarters for Plymouth Hospitals Charity. It’s where the Lloyds pharmacy was right at the front of Derriford Hospital.
The Charity is embarking on the next stage of our ambitious plans to make a significant impact on our community, for our patients at UHP, to support our incredible staff working for the Trust and to care for all our family’s futures.
Since then, the building has been transformed by building company Wilmott Dixon who’ve totally updated, modernised and decorated the offices for the charity team and today, Corinne Smith who’s head of the charity, was officially handed the keys to the new hub by Simon Whittingham from Wilmott Dixon.
“I’m thrilled and absolutely delighted, “said Corinne, “everyone has worked so hard to make the dream of having our own home a reality. It's an amazing metamorphosis from the dark, empty building I walked into last year. Willmott Dixon and the local companies they’ve involved to help transform the space, have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Receiving this as a gift, at no cost to the charity or the trust, has been a true honour. Willmott Dixon undertook this as part of their social value initiative to give back to the community and being chosen has been really rewarding. This area is now a bright, welcoming space which we hope will see a lot of people come in through the door. We can’t wait to meet you!”
The next few weeks will be busier than normal for the charity team who are planning an official opening of the new facility at Derriford. We’ll keep you posted with any updates so watch this space.
