Lions Club of Tavistock Donates £2,250 to Children's Cancer Services

A big thank you to the Lions Club of Tavistock who, this week, generously donated £2,250 to support Children’s Cancer Services at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.
The donation was raised through the club’s annual Trees of Light event, a much-loved Christmas fixture in Tavistock's calendar. Now in its 26th year, the event began in 1999 with just a single tree and has since grown into a cherished community festive tradition. Over the years, the Trees of Light have helped raise an incredible £160,000 for local charities, bringing people together to remember loved ones while supporting vital causes.
Earlier this week, members of the Lions Club of Tavistock presented the cheque to Tanya Crago, Lead Nurse for Paediatric Oncology, recognising the vital work of the children’s cancer team.
Tanya expressed her gratitude, saying:
"We are so thankful to the Lions Club of Tavistock and everyone who contributed to the Trees of Light. Donations like this make a real difference to the children in our care, helping us provide additional support and comfort to them and their families."
Plymouth Hospitals Charity extends its heartfelt thanks to the Lions Club of Tavistock for their dedication and generosity. Their continued commitment to the community ensures that children facing cancer receive the best possible care and support.
