Festive fundraisers flying high at our annual Santa Slide

Fundraisers dressed in Santa Suits at the top of the Zipwire

More than fifty fabulous fundraisers took on the challenge of this year’s Santa Slide last weekend and raised over £8,000.00 for Derriford Hospital’s Children’s wards.
The annual event took place over two days at The Eden Project in Cornwall, home to the fastest zipwire in England, and follows the charity’s hugely successful abseil challenge in the summer which saw fundraisers descending from the heights of Derriford’s roof.
At this year’s Santa Slide, participants soared over Eden’s famous biomes in their striking Santa suits to help raise money whilst taking on a thrilling challenge.
The Charity’s Fundraising Manager Jamie Lee said: “We’ve done this a few years now and it’s a lovely way for people to raise money to help children at the hospital whilst challenging themselves to step out of their comfort zone. It’s great to see so many fundraisers and their supporters getting into the Christmas spirit. It’s always a highlight on our fundraising calendar. Everyone has had a fantastic time! Thanks to everyone who took part.”
If you weren’t lucky enough to be part of this year’s event then look out for more challenges in 2025 when you can have a great experience with us whilst helping us to raise money to make life better for the patients and staff at our NHS sites.
