First patients welcomed to the new Plymouth Community Diagnostic Centre
Plymouth’s new Community Diagnostic Centre has opened its doors today, welcoming the first patients to the state-of-the-art facility.
The appointment-only service provides CT, MRI X-ray and ultrasound scans, along with cardiology, lung function, vascular and neurophysiology appointments, booked appointments for blood tests and adult audiology services.
Based in the city centre, on Western Approach, the centre will deliver over 91,600 tests and scans each year, with appointments running from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
Patient, Christine Bridgett said: “It was easy to get here and the feel of the building is lovely being brand new, it’s very spacious.”
“Staff have been lovely and very friendly, very helpful and it’s all been run very smoothly. I feel quite honoured being one of the first.”
