Online public consultation for further health development at Colin Campbell Court
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust in collaboration with Plymouth City Council would like to invite you to take part in our public consultation on the proposed further health development at Colin Campbell Court. In addition to the Plymouth Community Diagnostic Centre, which is scheduled to open this summer, a second building will provide a further range of integrated acute and community diagnostic services.
As a purpose-built, four-storey facility, the second Community Diagnostic Centre is designed to complement the services provided by the first building and significantly expand diagnostic capacity for the local population. This project is a key component of a nationally recognized NHS model of care that aims to provide essential healthcare services closer to where patients live, thereby reducing the pressure on acute hospital sites and improving the overall patient experience.
The delivery of a ‘Health Village’ is also an integral part of Plymouth City Council’s West End development, focusing on the regeneration of a local neighbourhood to tackle health inequalities and support the early detection of disease. To meet these goals, the centre will house advanced diagnostic equipment including an additional MRI scanner, DEXA scanning facilities, and ultrasound services, alongside dedicated consult rooms for cancer care pathways and specialized clinics for phlebotomy and Point of Care Testing (POCT). The building is being designed to meet high environmental standards, aligning with NHS net-zero guidelines, Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) and modern methods of construction (MMC).
We will shortly be submitting a Planning Application for this development. Before we do, we invite you to share you feedback via the form below:
