Dartmoor Building

The Dartmoor building is home to the Urgent Treatment Centre, Fracture Clinic and Main Outpatients Department and Pre-operative assessments. Dartmoor is located on the main Derriford site, opposite the multi-storey car park, Costa and Boots Pharmacy.

Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) Services

You should visit the UTC if you have an injury which is not life threatening, but still requires urgent treatment such as:

  • Limb fractures
  • Minor illness
  • Sprains and strains
  • Minor head injuries
  • Minor scalds and burns
  • Bites and stings
  • Foreign body in eyes
  • Infected wounds
  • Cuts

The new UTC will provide treatment for minor illness and injury in addition to the Cumberland Centre in Devonport and Minor Injury Units in Tavistock and Kingsbridge.

Fracture Clinic

The Fracture Clinic has been relocated from the main hospital site to the Dartmoor Building and offers a multidisciplinary team of experts to diagnose, treat and support patients in their recovery of fractures in a larger, modern purpose-built healthcare environment.  The clinic provides:

  • Increase in consultation rooms and plaster rooms

  • Shorter waiting times and faster diagnosis

  • Dedicated area for children

  • Comfortable waiting area
