Memory Tree in the Snowdrop Suite

Your Support Has Made This Beautiful Tribute Possible
On the 23rd of June 2025, a memory tree was installed in the Snowdrop Suite, thanks to kind donations from local families.
Each leaf will hold the name of a baby, honouring these precious lives at Snowdrop. All future engravings will be supported by donations, so families will be offered a leaf at no cost if they wish for their baby to be remembered in this special way.
We hope this tree offers some comfort and a place to reflect, reminding parents they’re not alone and that their babies will never be forgotten.
Jaime Straker, Bereavement Midwife at Derriford Hospital, said: “It has been truly amazing to see everyone's support and generosity, and it means that we now have this tree up and installed, and incredibly, we can offer a free leaf to families whose baby has sadly passed away. Thank you all so much."
Corinne Smith, Head of Charity at Plymouth Hospitals Charity, said: “When we learned that Snowdrop hoped for a memory tree in the suite, we felt it was a beautiful idea that many would want to support.
"Launching a winter appeal seemed like the perfect way to make it happen. We’re truly thankful to everyone who contributed — your kindness has helped create a lasting tribute and we hope it brings comfort to all who visit, now and in the years to come.”
A few leaves have already been engraved for families who have spent time at Snowdrop or the maternity ward at Derriford.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Memory Tree Appeal, making this possible for families experiencing a profound loss. The Snowdrop Suite was designed to provide a private space where families can create lasting memories with their babies, and the tree complements this beautifully. We're truly grateful for your support.
