Hello my name is Charlie and I am the matron for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. My areas include Cardiac Theatres, Torrington Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Clearbrook Ward and Crownhill Ward.

My role as matron is to oversee the delivery of nursing care to our patients and to support in the effectiveness of the service we provide to our patients, their families and carers.

Patient experience and outcomes are always our priority, and I would welcome any feedback to myself and my teams. This feedback provides us with an invaluable insight into the standard of care being delivered; it allows us to celebrate good practice and work on areas for improvement to ensure we continue to develop and strive for excellence.

I would encourage direct feedback face-to-face with my teams in the departments, through our friend and family questionnaires or by completing the contact for myself as the representation matron.
