How to put it on/off and when to use it

  1. Put foot/lower leg into the liner/walker boot. Ensure your heel is right to the back of the boot and the foot is flat. Fasten the liner ensuring it is a snug fit.
  2. Fix shell to front of liner.
  3. Fasten straps, starting from your toes and work your way up. It should feel firm but not too tight.
  4. Press the pump to inflate the air cells Inflate sore side first and then do the same on the other side. It should feel comfortable, not too tight.
  5. To let air out, lift the cap and press the valve.

To remove the boot:

  1. Deflate both sides by lifting the caps and pressing the valves.
  2.  Undo Velcro straps.
  3. Take off front shell.
  4.  Undo liner.
  5.  Lift foot/lower leg out of boot/walker.

You must take off the boot every day to check it is not rubbing your skin or causing any sores

When do I wear the boot?

  • All the time
  • Weight bearing only i.e. standing/walking

Do I wear it at night?

  • Yes, deflate the air cells over night
  • No, take it off

Weight Bearing Status:

  • Full weight bearing; put all your weight through the leg as comfortable
  • Partial weight bearing, put approximately half your weight through the leg (walking aids needed)
  • Touch weight bearing; just touch your foot to the floor (walking aids needed)
  • None weight bearing, no weight to go through the boot at all. Weight bear as able, put as much weight as is comfortable through your leg and build it up slowly
