Your UV light treatment

UV light treatment will help with the problems you are having with your skin.

You will need 24 treatments.

We will talk to you about your treatments before your first session.

It is okay if you are nervous and want to ask lots of questions. We can show you the machine so you know what to expect.

We will ask you your birthday each time we see you. This is so we know we have the right patient having the right treatment.

Getting ready for treatment

As the UV light needs to shine on your skin you will need to take all of your clothes off.

No one will see you as you change behind curtains and step straight  into the machine.

If you have long hair you will be asked to tie it up.

We will ask you to put on a pair of goggles to protect your eyes. You may be given a shield to protect your face.

If you are a man we will ask you to tuck your penis (willy) into a dark sock you have brought from home. This is to protect the sensitive skin.

The UV light machine

The machine is full of long thin light bulbs. These go blue when the machine is on.

Your treatment does not take very long. We will tell you how long it will take on the day.

When the UV light is on you will also hear a fan.

When the lights and fan turn off and the machine bleeps you can get out and put your clothes back on.

If you need to put creams on or want some help getting dressed please let us know.
