Please note that that your visit to the Medical SDEC Unit is designed to provide rapid investigation treatment of your condition without the need to be admitted to hospital. Due to the nature of this service, we cannot always give an exact time for your appointment, and we arrange these in order of clinical need. You should anticipate that your attendance at the unit will take between 1 and 6 hours, although we will try and make this as short as possible.
You can expect that you will be seen by a clinician who will discuss your condition, arrange appropriate investigations for you and explain any treatment plans that are to be implemented.
It is expected that you will arrange transport to and from the unit, if you have difficulties with transport, please contact the unit on the number above who can advise you on alternative transport arrangements.
