Clinics are held three times a week on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, for the first month.

Your first appointment with the Exeter team will be on the renal day case unit (Sid ward) and the team advise you park in the dialysis unit car park.

Following this, outpatient appointments have been moved to Whipton community hospital:

Budlake ward, Whipton Hospital, Hospital Lane, EX1 3RB.

The Exeter team will explain when and where to attend your appointments going forward.

DO NOT take your morning dose of Tacrolimus for that day until you have had your post-clinic blood tests. Please bring a list of your medication and a urine sample.

You will be called through by the clinic nurse who will:

  • Take your blood pressure

  • Weigh you

  • Test your urine

You are then free to leave, unless you have been specifically asked to stay in the hospital until your blood results are back.

The hospital has an automatic number plate recognition system, so please remember to give your registration to a receptionist so they can fill out a vehicle clearance form.

A translator service for those patients where English is not their first language or who are hearing impaired is available, as is involvement from our learning disabilities team for patients who may benefit from their support.

If you feel you need to speak with the Transplant nurses, simply ring the transplant office on 01392 405897 during office hours. For out of hours advice please contact Creedy ward on 01392 402591
