Going Home
-
Have a restful afternoon / evening.
-
When the local anaesthetic wears off you may be aware of some discomfort. Your eye may water and feel gritty especially when you blink. This is normal. Take one or two painkillers if required.
-
You may find it helpful to use a lubricating eye ointment or gel in your operated eye, which you can purchase from any pharmacy.
-
If you are concerned about your eye or have severe pain headache or nausea, please contact us on the number above.
-
The pad and tape are flammable so please keep away from naked flames and cigarettes.
-
Judging distances can be difficult with one eye covered so take care not to bump into anything. Please take care when walking up / down steps as they may not be where you think they are. Use handrails or someone's arm and be extra careful when crossing the road.
-
Avoid cooking or pouring hot liquids if possible. Ensure cups and plates are not put near the edge of the table.
