Children’s Theatres
Children’s Theatres are located in the Freedom unit, at Derriford Hospital. They see patients age 0 to 18 with a variety of health issues for operations and procedures including MRI scans. Children’s wards
At Derriford hospital we have two children’s wards called Wildgoose and Woodcock and a Children's High Dependency Unit located on level 12 in the main building. Children's outpatients is also located on level 12. For more information visit the paediatrics section.
Emergency department

Derriford Children's Cancer Service
The Derriford Children’s Cancer Service (DCCS) looks after children with cancer and leukaemia who live in Plymouth, West Devon and East Cornwall. You can find more information about the department on their section of the website.
Children's Psychological Health and Wellbeing
The Children’s Psychological Health and Wellbeing Team work with children, young people and their families to support their physical and emotional wellbeing. We provide assessment and intervention, such as therapy and group work, for difficulties including anxiety, anger, adjustment to and difficulties linked with a medical condition, and supporting with challenges linked to a developmental condition. The team is made up of Clinical Psychologists and Child Wellbeing Practitioners and we are based at the Child Development Centre and on Level 12 at Derriford Hospital. Child Development Centre
The Child Development Centre (CDC) is an assessment centre which provides both initial outpatient assessment and continuing treatment and support for children.
The centre offers help to children with developmental disorders that may result in physical, sensory, communication, emotional or learning difficulties. More information in their section of the website.
