Mount Gould Hospital diagnostic imaging services praised by the CQC

The Diagnostic Imaging Services at Mount Gould Hospital has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Inspectors visited the service in February and March as part of the CQC’s routine assessment of facilities run by University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) on the Mount Gould Hospital site. The ‘Good’ rating is a reflection on how the CQC found the service to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led – the five key domains used in their assessment framework.
Joan Audas, Imaging Service Line Manager at UHP, said: “We are delighted with the CQC’s assessment of our Diagnostic Imaging Services at Mount Gould Hospital. Our teams work incredibly hard to deliver a high standard of care for our patients, and this rating is a reflection of that. We were especially pleased to receive positive feedback on the processes we have in place to ensure safety and quality, as well as our efforts to provide timely and effective access for patients. It’s also encouraging to hear recognition of the supportive and positive culture among our staff and leadership teams.”
Reflecting on the visit of the inspectors Harriet Elder, Lead Radiographer, said: “The inspectors took time to observe our daily routines, engage with both staff and patients and gain a genuine understanding of the service we deliver. It was clear they valued our strong focus on patient care, safety and the supportive way we work together as a team. I had constructive conversations with them about the improvements we’ve made to streamline pathways, reduce waiting times and enhance overall patient experience. I’m proud that their assessment recognised the dedication, professionalism and compassion our team brings to the service at Mount Gould every day.”
The CQC assessed the Diagnostic Imaging Services on Mount Gould, and their rating of ‘Good’ is not an overall assessment of all UHP run services at Mount Gould Hospital. The CQC’s full report will be published on their website in the coming days.
