Lind Research Centre

The Lind Research Centre is a research facility in the heart of Derriford Hospital. The Lind is set up to support our population to access clinical research opportunities.

Centre Facilities

The centre consists of a five-bay ward and three consulting rooms with examination couch’s.  All rooms have computer access and phone lines. Broadband and fax facilities are also available.

The day ward is equipped with beds, trolleys and treatment chairs and has a sluice and WC –oxygen and suction are sited in the bed spaces.  There is also a crash trolley and the services of our Clinical Trials Assistants can be arranged with due notice.  

Ambient and chilled centrifuges, ECG machines, and fridge and freezer facilities are all available in the centre’s utility room which is also stocked with basic supplies.

Facilities in the centre are very versatile and can be used for a variety of research purposes.

The bright and airy reception has a patient waiting area where patients can expect a warm and friendly welcome; there is also a kitchen area – invaluable for patients that need to attend fasting appointments.

Finding the LIND Centre

The centre is situated on Level 5 of the Terence Lewis Building in the Main Hospital, and is signposted from the main lift on Level 5.  Alternatively you can enter via the maternity entrance on Level 5 and the centre is along the corridor and on the right.  Disabled parking bays can be found at the Terence Lewis entrance which is situated on Level 3 at the rear of the hospital.
