Paediatric plastic surgery

Plymouth is fortunate to have a dedicated theatre suite for children and so has particular expertise in looking after children having surgery. We provide excellent pre-op preparation and post-op care as well as skilled anaesthetists and theatre team to keep children safe during surgery.

We treat a wide selection of conditions including skin lesions, ear anomalies, hand conditions such as syndactyly and extra digits.

Hypospadias makes up a large proportion of the work we do as it is a relatively common condition which can be readily corrected, usually with a single operation that creates a penis with normal appearance and function.

Clinics are held on level 12 in Children’s Outpatients. Mr MacKenzie treats most of the children with Mr Currie providing a specialist hand service for more complex problems.
