Supporting newly qualified staff
Our preceptorship programme for nurses and midwives is exceptionally well reviewed and provides newly qualified staff with the skills, support, and confidence to become competent and effective practitioners.
During your preceptorship year, you will be offered the opportunity of working across a wide range of specialties as part of a rotational programme giving you the opportunity to gain experience in different areas of the organisation.
Supporting International nurses
Our Orientation package has been developed to help our International Nurses adapt to living in Britain, starting with meeting them at the airport, all the way through to opening a bank account and showing Plymouth’s famous landmarks and beautiful city. After Orientation, our International Nurses attend our internal OSCE Training Programme, covering APIE (Academic and Professional International Evaluations) and all skills stations in line with NMC standards; and we’re pleased to say our OSCE Training Programme has a 100% pass rate. Post OSCE our nurses are supported through an adapted Preceptorship, tailored to meet their exact needs, ready to work as UK Registered Nurses. They then receive continual support from the International Recruitment Team and Ward Manager to embed and welcome them into the organisation.
Developing staff through learning
As an organisation we support lifelong learning for all our staff and offer opportunities to apply for degree and master's level studies. We have a range of supervision, coaching and mentorship opportunities available to all staff
We invest time and funding into continuous professional development (CPD) so you can reach your full potential. Ongoing CPD is supported by our dedicated team, and includes activities such as study days, conferences, and modular programme activity.
Revalidation
We are well equipped to support you in demonstrating the requirements of your revalidation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
