You are coming to the Child Development Centre for a psychology appointment.

You can find information and photos of the staff on our website so you can see who you will be meeting with. Go to the Child Development Centre web page

  • When you arrive, go to the reception desk to let them know you are there.

  • Then you will go to the waiting room until your appointment starts. If you want, you can see what is on our colourful wall or have a look at our noticeboard.

  • When it is time for your appointment, a psychologist will call out your name and take you to the clinic room.

  • The psychologist will ask questions about you to get to know you. They might ask questions about things you like or dislike and about your hobbies and interests.

  • We will also talk to you about your feelings and what you would like help with.

  • You can ask us questions too.

  • You can talk to us on your own or your caregivers can stay in the room with you. It’s your choice.

  • We will not tell anyone what you have said. Our conversation will stay private.

  • We will only tell someone if we think you or someone else are not safe.

  • At the end of the appointment, we will book another appointment to see you or your caregivers.
