University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust’s Community Phlebotomy Hub, previously offered at Future Inns, will now move to Windsor House on Tavistock Road, Derriford, Plymouth in a move designed to enhance patient experience and streamline blood testing services. By transitioning to Windsor House, the Trust aims to provide a more accessible and convenient service for patients.

The service will be closed from 1pm on Thursday 30 January and re-opened on Monday 3 February at Windsor House.

From Monday 3 February, the new Community Phlebotomy Hub at Windsor House will be open Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) from 8am to 4.30pm. Patients can use the service on a walk-in basis with no need for an appointment following a referral. The hub also continues to cater to GP-referred patients.

The relocation to Windsor House offers better accessibility and a welcoming environment designed with patient needs in mind. Our aim is to provide a more efficient and patient-friendly service while maintaining the highest standards of care.

John Stephens, Director of Estates & Facilities at University Hospitals Plymouth said: “We are really pleased to be working with Plymouth City Council to move some of our services to Windsor House. Not only does this free up valuable space at Derriford for clinical services, it ensures this prominent and highly accessible property is utilised for the benefit of our patients and staff.”

There is allocated parking for visitors at the front of the building. Parking for patients attending the Phlebotomy Community Hub will be free for the first two hours. Once you arrive, please provide your car registration number at reception.

For patients under the age of 16, appointments must be booked through the Children and Young People’s Outpatients Department by calling 01752 430927.

The Trust remains committed to keeping patients informed about any updates to service arrangements and thanks patients for their understanding and cooperation as it continues to improve services for the local community.

Councillor Mark Lowry, Plymouth City Council Cabinet member for finance said: “We work closely with colleagues in the NHS, and we are all too aware of the challenges the hospital faces.

“We constantly review our property portfolio to make the most of it for our residents and that includes working with others to address citywide health issues.”
