Your Donations Fund a New Library Kiosk to Support Staff Development

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has a Discovery Library at Derriford Hospital, which supports the learning and development of its staff and students.
Thanks to your support and donations, Plymouth Hospitals Charity recently funded a new library kiosk for this area to ensure that staff can continue to access library services out of hours.
Staff who work various shift patterns, including nights and weekends, often find themselves needing access to the library outside of usual hours. The old library kiosk, which allowed for self-service access for book loans, returns, and renewals, managed this issue so the library could stay open and operational for 24 hours.
The Library Services team recently approached our charity with an urgent need. The old kiosk, which handled 96% of all book loan activity, had stopped working and needed a replacement. Your donations made this possible.
We donated £8,124.30 for the new kiosk, which was successfully installed in May. Staff are happy to see the kiosk back, as it offers added convenience and improves their efficiency, making it easier for them to access valuable resources.
Corinne Smith, Head of Charity, said:
"It's fantastic to see the library's kiosk back in operation. Research and staff development are crucial, not just for staff well-being and career progression but also for enhancing the quality of patient care. We are delighted that we could help."
Plymouth Hospitals Charity is dedicated to transforming your local hospitals to enhance healthcare quality and improve the experiences of both our staff and patients.
