Healthcare Science and Technology Service Line delivers specialised clinical, scientific and technical services through a number of diverse departments and units that are accredited to international and sectorial standards.

The Service Line provides specialist expertise to users of medical devices, sophisticated measurement instruments and tools for equipment testing to support and optimise the delivery of safe and high quality care, and to meet legislative requirements and implement best practice as recommended by the MHRA.

A Medical Device Rolling Replacement Programme is conducted through the Medical Devices Strategy Group. The Programme plans, prioritises and coordinates replacement of medical equipment across the Trust with aim of ensuring that medical devices are replaced in a timely fashion with current devices.

The Service Line encourages innovation by providing support to evaluate and progress potential 'Bright Ideas' in both and technical developments.
