The Board of UHP abhors all forms of racism and discrimination

We embrace our duty to address it, and we pledge to:

  • Listen to the voices and lived experience of colleagues and patients from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background, all people of colour, and all groups who suffer discrimination or lack of fair representation.

  • Commit to eradicate inequalities within our Trust and in health provision and outcomes.
  • Turn that commitment into positive action.
  • Use our voice and influence to assist others within our city to address the wider social determinants of racism and inequality.

Individually and collectively we accept our responsibility to listen to, and learn from, the experience of all underrepresented groups.

We will listen with respect, acknowledging that past action has failed to bring about the change we need to see.

We ask all colleagues to work with us to eradicate unfairness and discrimination within our organisation and within wider society.
