The Plymouth Oesophago-Gastric Team sees and treats patients suffering with diseases of the stomach and oesophagus, including anti-reflux and cancer surgery. We care for the local population as well as recieving patients from around the South West Pennisula region who need specialist cancer surgery. We also provide weight-loss surgery, for which more information can be accessed on our Bariatric surgery pages.

The surgeons work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and meet weekly to discuss cancer cases with specialists from around the region. The team includes radiologists, histopathologists, cancer nurse specialists and endoscopists and they work closely to ensure that doctors around the region can discuss specialist cases 24 hours a day.

Cancer patients will often recieve much of their care, including chemotherapy or radiotherapy, in their local hospital and only visit Plymouth in preparation for surgery.

Our staff are committed to providing high quality, personalised care in a safe and comfortable environment.  Please follow the links on the left hand side of the page to access the information.
