We’ve launched a Young Persons' Patient Council at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) and we would like YOU to be part of it! If you're passionate about making a difference in health services for young people and would like your voice to be heard, this is your chance!
By joining, you'll not only get involved in shaping the future of healthcare, but also have fun, develop new skills, and connect with others. Whether you're looking to build your CV, or simply want to help your community, the UHP Youth Council is the perfect way to make a real impact.
Why does this matter?
You know your community best – and we want to hear from YOU! The Young Persons' Patient Council is your chance to make a difference in the services that affect you and your friends. Your input will help make healthcare more engaging, youth-friendly, and effective.
What are the benefits to others?
By joining UHP's Young Person's Patient Council, you’re not just benefiting yourself – you’re also helping improve healthcare for other young people. Your feedback will ensure that services better meet the needs of your peers. Be a voice for change and help create a healthier, brighter future for all!
What’s Expected of you?
We understand that life is busy, so we’re flexible! We ask that you donate whatever time you can to help make a difference and have your voice heard. Right now, we’re listening to peoples feedback out how often the council will meet, but we expect to get together every six weeks or so for 1-2 hours.
Parents and carers are more than welcome to join and support, and we’ll cover all travel expenses, so no one is left out of pocket.
All we ask is that you:
- Share your honest thoughts, opinions, and aspirations
- Respect others and their views
You won’t be alone – the group will be supported by trained UHP staff members who are fully DBS-checked, so you’ll be in safe hands.
Your time, your voice, your impact. Ready to make a difference? Let’s do it together!
