There are some free parent and child parking spaces outside the Child Development Centre allocated for your use, including two disabled parking bays. However please be aware the spaces are very limited and if you are attending without your child please leave these free for parents with young children or those with mobility difficulites. At peak times you may need to make alternative parking arrangements. It might be helpful to know that the roads around the centre are free to park with no time limitations. Please factor in time to find a space when planning to attend your appointment with us.

Whilst Waiting Waiting room

We have just completed an exciting art project in 2023 to make the walls more interactive and colourful (find out more about it here). We are still short on toys and books in this area so the waiting room is a bit sparse. We are aware some toys would be helpful and are actively working on this. If you need to, please feel free to bring something to keep your child entertained like a book or some colouring. We have some activity sheets at reception, so please ask if you would like some for your child.

Whilst we all try our best to keep our clinics to time, we apologise if sometimes you are waiting longer than expected for your appointment. When booking appointments, we cannot always know when children or young people with complex or multiple problems might need a little extra time than we planned for.

If you are concerned, and it has been over 20 minutes, please speak to our friendly reception team to see if they can help. We appreciate your kindness and patience with this.

Refreshments

We have a water machine in reception which you are welcome to use. For safety reasons we ask that you do not have hot drinks or hot food in the building. There are several small local shops nearby. There is also the Meet and Eat cafe nearby in the Healthy Living Centre.

Smoking

The Child Development Centre is a tobacco free site, as such we ask that you respect this policy and pay attention to the signs about where smoking is prohibited.
