Youngest Abseiler is relishing her first challenge to help others

What ten year old Isla Stagg lacks in age she certainly makes up for in her spirit of adventure and her desire to help other people.
Her mum Claire says that in the last couple of years, Isla’s become somewhat of an adrenaline junkie:

“Now she’s finally tall enough, she can’t get enough of those big upside-down rides at theme parks, nothing seems to faze her so when I read about the abseil, I just knew that she would love to take part. Now that she knows that she’s the youngest person to sign up she’s even more excited to do it.  I have tried to warn her how high it is, and all her family think she is absolutely crazy, but we are all amazed and in awe at her courage.
My partner Ross will be doing the abseiling with her just in case she needs a little encouragement when she gets to the top although I imagine Isla will be the one giving the encouragement to Ross!”

Isla is abseiling to raise money for Derriford’s children’s wards. She had an overnight stay there following an injury sustained on a school adventure week. Isla said:

“I can’t wait to do the abseil, it’s going to be so much fun.  I hope the Wild Goose Ward can get some new games and things and that the money helps them and I hope all the people in Derriford Hospital get well soon.”
Good luck to Isla and all our abseilers. You can support them by clicking this link.
