Children’s and Young Peoples Outpatients Department
On the Children’s and Young Peoples Outpatients Department (CYPOD) we deliver a variety of services for Children and Young People aged 0-16 years (occasionally older). We’re a small team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who work closely with our colleagues across the floor to help provide the best care for your child. It is here that the Consultants, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, or Nurses will see your child in clinic if they have an outpatient appointment booked.
They see children for a whole range of conditions including but not limited to:

Visiting Clinics from Bristol and Southampton
As well as these clinics, we cannulate children prior to scans and infusions, administer vaccinations, carry out sweat tests, change dressings, carry out food/drug challenges and allergy skin prick testing. We run a busy phlebotomy service which is booked appointments only for children up to the age of 16 years. Children over 16 years should book a blood test appointment at Windsor House Phlebotomy Service.
We work closely with the play team who are always on hand to help support you and your child through any procedures or tests they may have.
There is a small play area on CYPOD as well as digital distraction, and our very popular fish tank which all helps to keep your children entertained during your visit.
