When should total IgE levels be measured?

Measurement of total IgE is not indicated in routine investigation of allergic disease.

Measuring Specific IgE to suspected food, drug or inhalant triggers may be appropriate depending on the clinical circumstances.

How can I request total IgE?

Routine requesting of total IgE is not available from primary care.
