Pilot randomised trial of functional imagery training plus treatment as usual versus treatment as usual alone to reduce alcohol-related harm in patients with alcohol-related liver disease admitted to hospital

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is an abnormal rhythm that causes the heart to beat irregularly and can be treated with cryoballoon ablation if previous medical therapy is ineffective or intolerable. The success rate 12 months post procedure is around 75% for patients with intermittent AF and around 60% for patients with persistent AF. Some patients undergo multiple ablations in pursuit of a cure.

Professor Stephen Lewis, Consultant Gastroenterologist has developed a study in collaboration with Dr Paula Murphy and Louise Cleary to see if appetite can be increased through appearance.

Dr Blair Graham, Lecturer in Urgent and Emergency Care has developed a multicentre study in collaboration with Dr Jason Smith, and Professor Jos Latour to assess the validity of a new patient experience survey.
