Over £34000 saved from using Warp it

Since implementing the equipment/furniture/resource reuse and management system, Warp It back in November 2023, UHP has achieved so much in the name of reusing and conserving resources.

Our Sustainability Manager Kirsty said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have saved £34,381 through Warp It during this difficult financial time, and staff can give themselves a well-earned pat on the back and a few high fives for their great participation!”

Warp It is designed to make it very easy for staff at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust to loan or give surplus items to other staff. The Sustainability team is currently working with our procurement service to set up a system whereby items that aren’t needed within UHP can be passed onto partner organisations. This is all about saving you time and money and conserving our resources.

So far, our 307 members have saved:

  • £34,381 (This means we’ve saved the money to fund a salary of a B5/6 employee!)

  • 6034 kgs of waste

  • 14503 CO2 kg

Amazingly, this is equivalent to taking 6 cars off the road or planting 19 trees. So, if you have an item that is taking up space that you don’t need, put it on Warp It, or if you’re looking for an item check Warp It before you buy new! Either way you'll be helping to fight climate change.
