Nature for Wellbeing

21st May was the Trust’s Wellbeing Day, and the Sustainability team were representing Site Services with our stand! We showcased our first draft of the illustrated green spaces, highlighted the upcoming Carbon Literacy training opportunities, and recruited a fair few new Green Champions.
As a team, we recognise the interconnectedness between wellbeing and nature and have previously featured several examples of their crossover on the blog. The latest joint project is the Learning from Excellence card design competition where a panel of three judges will be selecting three winning nature images to use for the card designs, with an additional £20 gift voucher for the winners.
The Learning from Excellence scheme is a way for staff and patients to say thank you and show appreciation for something a member of staff or team has done well. By capturing and studying excellence in healthcare we can create new opportunities for learning and importantly, thank and appreciate the staff who work so hard, often in challenging and pressurised conditions. This June, The Learning from Excellence team are seeking creative interpretations of the theme 'Nature for Wellbeing' to feature on their thank you cards and spread positivity throughout our community. Whether it's a serene landscape, a vibrant digital creation, or a captivating photograph, they’re calling on staff to let their artistic talents shine!
Connecting with nature and snapping wildlife photos as part of this competition will also earn participants points on our staff sustainable behaviours app Choosing Greener. During the current Nature Nurturers campaign, staff can earn 300 Green Points for connecting with the natural world and sharing their best photo- earn points climb the leaderboard and vin vouchers! Why not kill two birds with one stone and take part in both initiatives with the same photo? (Apologies for the unsustainable expression…)
Please note this is a staff competition and Choosing Greener is only available for UHP employees.
