Cancer Education Hub
The Cancer Education Hub at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust delivers high-quality education and training within the Trust and across our local networks throughout the Southwest. We work closely with the Peninsula Cancer Academy to collaborate in delivering a range of training opportunities across the Peninsula. We offer a range of short courses and study days and have a key focus on communication skills.
Meet the Team
Our team combines a diverse array of skills and knowledge in cancer care, education, research, and communication. We draw from a vast range of professions across the region including Nurses, AHPs and Doctors.
Andy Garner, Oncology Education Lead
The Cancer Education Hub is led by Andy Garner, a registered Therapeutic Radiographer with a diverse background across oncology. Andy brings a strong passion for education and training, shaped by his earlier career as a Secondary School Teacher. He leads the development and delivery of oncology education, with a particular interest in active learning and interactive teaching approaches that engage and empower learners.
Manu Miah, Cancer Education Hub Administrator
Manu provides essential administrative support for the Cancer Education Hub, helping to coordinate educational activities and assist learners and staff with course information, resources, and general enquiries. With a calm and approachable manner, Manu plays a key role in ensuring the Hub runs efficiently and remains a welcoming space for all.
